The faithfulness of God manifests in the ordinance of the heaven and earth that He had established. “Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season.” (Jeremiah 33:20) In the faithfulness to His word, He tied His unbreakable covenant of sustaining grace with humanity henceforth with Noah, saying He will no longer destroy the earth the way it was swept off with flood during the days of Noah. That was why He said, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)
He also tied His covenant to the ordinances of Heaven and earth concerning the deliverance and blessing upon the household of David that He will not cast away the seed of the generation of Abraham. “Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth.” (Jeremiah 33:25)
Because while the earth remaineth, there will always be the seed-time and harvest time according to the faithfulness of Almighty God, the faithful farmers captured the moment of this powerful truth and relied on the faithfulness of God, they plant their seedlings in their due seasons with expectation to reap a bumper harvest at the harvest time in accordance to the faithfulness of Almighty God. These farmers knew in summer time that the rain will be coming. They clear the ground in summer waiting for the time of rain. The farmer went further, bearing in mind the word of God and rely on it in the book of 2 Corinthians 9:6 that says, “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” The farmers in the western countries, do not just sow their seeds. They carry out extensive research on their seedlings with Agricultural Research Organizations, in order to determine the best seeds that can yield abundant of harvest. Even the local farmers in the less developed part of the world always plant a sizable slices of yam and good and healthy seeds into the fertile ground according to the expected harvest they are expecting at the harvest time.
God is a faithful Father, let us apply the precepts of sowing and reaping into all aspect of our lives. Let us serve him with the best of our abilities, let honor Him with our resources, let us love what He loves let us follow the pathway of His righteousness and holiness while we are waiting for our faithful Father to bless our efforts according to His word. He will surely bless us, because He had appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth. Above all our mansion in heaven is waiting for us in eternity. He always watch over His words to perform them.
Prayer: O Lord grant me the grace to serve you with the best of my services and honor you with the best of my resources. I know, Merciful Father, that you will return to me in your mercy to reward me and bless me, because you never forget the labor of love of your children.
