Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. (Matthew 15:32-37)
Jesus and the disciples are not operating at the same frequencies. The disciples have good hearts. They have sense of administration. Their objective here is that if they cannot help the people, let the people help themselves. The disciples have concern for the people but Jesus Christ has compassion for the people. The Bible students described the word ‘compassion’ of Jesus Christ as ‘love couple with action.’ It one thing to love and it is another thing to convert the love into action. Jesus did not only love the people but also transformed the love he has for them to action in order to meet their needs. The disciples were limited by the physical availability of materials, but Jesus Christ was unlimited with the super abundance of Heaven.
If you are hungry and you are not pleased with the situations of your life there is a way out—Follow our Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35) “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10)
If peace has become elusive to you in your home, with your spouse and your children, He is the prince of peace. He will intervene in your situation and endow you with His peace that passes all understanding. Phil 4:7
If you are not pleased with your sickness, follow Him He will heal you. A compassionate father will not let you go back with your sickness if you can put your trust on Him today. He said “cast all your cares upon me, I careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) “With His stripes [of our Lord Jesus Christ] we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) He said “I will bless your bread and your drink and take sickness from you.” (Exodus 23:25); “I will not allow the diseases of Egyptians upon you, I am the Lord that healeth you.” Exodus 15:26
If you are tired of failure in life, why don’t you try Jesus Christ, He never failed. Anna cried unto Him, she was not put to shame. The Lord remembered Serah and Elizabeth and fulfilled their heart desires and blessed with fruit of the womb. In His faithfulness, He will surely not forget you. “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Isaiah 49:15
If pain and poverty is terrorizing you, cling unto Jesus Christ, He will deliver you and fulfill you and enlarge your coast. “And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:10) The Lord will heal your spiritual life and bless your secular activities and enlarge your coast.
Prayer: O Lord, Bread of Heaven, heal me, deliver me and feed me till I want no more in Jesus name, Amen.
