Generally, I don’t like playing internet generated games until recently when I came across Game 2048. I was curious when I saw it. It was different from SODUKU puzzles that came to existence around 2004. Two numbers in the multiple of twos appear on the screen. The person playing the game has the responsibility to combine these increasing multiples of two numbers to a higher multiple of two figures. The more the player can carefully reconcile and combine numbers, the higher the score of the person playing the game. The highest I was able to score recently was 59708. Perhaps you do not know about this game before, you can check it out on Google on the internet.
One day as I was playing this game, suddenly a thought flooded into my heart. Some called this an inspiration. I said to myself, “If I have wisdom to combine and reconcile two individual numbers and I was able to attain a score of 59708, if I can use the same wisdom, now empowered by the anointing of Holy Spirit in reconciling individuals that do not have a relationship with God and be able to reconcile them to pitch their tents under the canopy of the love of God, how amazing and awesome would it had been. People says, “It takes two to tango.” When God was about the save the world of Noah, He commanded that animals to come to the Ark of Noah in the multiple of two. “They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.” (Genesis 7:14-15) When Jesus Christ sent His disciples on missionary journey, He sent them out in multiple of two. “And he called unto him the twelve and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits.” (Mark 6:7) “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. (Luke 10:1) In other word, Our Lord Jesus Christ is telling us that we need to employ the power of two like-minded, prayerful and committed believers in the missionary field to populate the kingdom of God so that righteousness and holiness may overcome this wicked world. The population of the world now is about seven billion; ten percent of this population had not received salvation. Obviously, we have work to do.
Grace is always available to us to be a voice of reconciliation to the couples that are in a head-long disagreement with each other. We can encourage them to stick together in unity. We have grace to persuade and admonish them to forgive each other and once again reconcile with each other and continue in the holy institution of marriage, because the strength of righteous compromise depends on the unity of two. Better still, “two good heads are better than one.” This principle can be found in the game 2048. Like two figures that is combined to become one, marriage institution occurred when two compatible individuals that came together to become one holy union. Interestingly, that was the desire of God for the couples. Prophet Amos asked a question, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3) Amazingly the fruit of unity in the marriage is the result of the biological increase and prosperity we experience in the family.
We can as well extend the reconciling effect of game 2048 in bringing about reconciliation between fellow brother and sister in the Lord that were at loggerhead against each other. Instead of sowing the seed of discord, we may foster unity among brethren to encourage good and excellent relationship for the glory of God. We can pray together instead of gossiping against each other. We can form a small group with each other on a laudable project that can benefit the community. We can make arrangement to visit the elderly people in the name of the Lord and encourage them. We can touch the lives of others and reach out to them with our little resources. We can even offer counsel to those in need of encouragement and be a guide unto people about how they can make a head way in life. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” With God on our side according to Deuteronomy 32:30, one can chase a thousand, but two can put ten thousand to flight. Certainly, we can apply our skill of reconciliation to bring salvation and unity among humanity. Let us begin right now!
Prayer: O Lord make me an instrument of unity in this divisive world for your glory, in Jesus name. Grant me the grace to impart your desired purpose of salvation unto humanity by bringing the message of the gospel to them, in Jesus name, Amen.
