Home is a unique word that is common to everyone and we all know the importance of it. Every human being on earth is a product of a home. To some home is the place that one can enjoy the comfort of the father and mother and also the company of one’s siblings. To some, home is something else. It could mean the place of fight and distrust where father and mother is always at loggerhead in argument and anger and the siblings do their own rowdy things uncontrollable.
It is not by accident that every websites have a designated home page and a button is carved for it in website as the key to get to the home page. You see some well organized homepage and some are horribly disorganized. The secretaries are used to the two home keys on the computer. Their two index fingers always rest on the home keys to serve as a guide to other fingers while typing. There is home office that serve as the parent office for the big organizations. In some cases they call it headquarter office. This is where the board of directors meet to decide the affairs of the satellite offices of the company.
Whatever may be the condition of each home, people wakes up in the morning in their homes, headed to their various places of activities and at the end of the day, most people return to their home. One unique attribute that is common to every home is that it has a fixed or permanent address that include street number, apartment number, city name, state, zip codes and country name. If you slot these information relating to your home on the google earth, you will instantly be opened to your home.
In the same manner there are spiritual homes. Jesus Christ talked about His home in heaven in the book of John 14:1-3. “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” He gave us the inviting description of this perfect home that had been prepared for the righteous people, and assurance that He is coming back to lead the righteous to their home in heaven–the place of peace and rest. He also gave a perfect description of the horrible home of evil entity called Satan with the scary and repulsive description of the place. “So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:49-50)
No physical forms are needed to be filled and no mortgage needed for these two spiritual fixed addresses. The home address of the righteous is heaven, the place of joy and peace. The home address of the sinners is hell-fire, the place of wailing and gnashing of teeth. The characters we displayed on earth and various choices we made while living will determine our permanent address in eternity. Think deeply on these two choices that are made available in the bible passages above and endeavor to wisely customize your home in eternity. I humbly appeal to you to please consider building with Jesus Christ in holiness and righteousness while you are still here on earth in exchange for an enduring peaceful and joyful home in heaven at last. You will not regret the choice.
Prayer: O Lord enlighten my mind to understand your love concerning the fixed address you have prepared for me. Qualify me in your justification to be with you in your eternity in Jesus name, Amen.
