Perhaps you are not used to the phrase that form our topic today, it is another way of saying ‘I am going to be wealthy’ in this world. Or better still, it means I am going to be somebody great in this world. There is nothing wrong to have this beautiful aspiration. Many people started the quest without taking into consideration the prices one has to pay in order to be great or wealthy.

Some people started by approaching this quest physically only. They made up their minds by working very hard. This is good but it is still subject to critical consideration. Hardworking is really a positive step to be great or wealthy depending on whatever one is laboring on and the approach that one is undertaking to accomplish it. After all, a few hours of overtime on Sunday, even when you are not on mandatory schedule, will increase the balance on your bank account. That seems to be a smart idea.“??” Some are so hardworking to the extent that they do not reserve any provision of their quality times to serve God. Some do not even take their immediate family into consideration because they are so busy.

Some choose to approach the same quest in a ruthless manner not minding to kill or maim others as long as they get to their ultimate narrow minded goal of being great and wealthy. Yes they do not mind to step upon or match in the blood of other people in order to be rich. That is why some engaged themselves in all kinds of horrendous activities like armed robbery, kidnapping, smuggling, extortion and drug related activities, etc. Some may choose to go it easy in worldly manner by selling their bodies in prostitution activities in order to be great. I was told that a woman once said to her friend, “I will use my body to build a house before I get marry.” Little did this woman know that her body is the temple of the Living God. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (2 Corinthians 6:19)

Virtually every man on earth have one quest or the other, and most of these aspirations are based on pecuniary purposes. While you are pursing your own quest this day please remember the word of God in Matthew 16:26 “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Also in Ecclesiastes 5:15 we are reminded that, “As he had come naked from his mother’s womb, so will he return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand.” (Ecclesiastes 5:15 NAS)

Prayer: O Lord, endow me with your wisdom to incorporate righteousness, holiness and above all, the love of God into the various quests of my life, in Jesus name, Amen
