No Entitlement, No Right

The blessing of God does not come to man in the platform of an entitlement or right. With what is going on in the culture of selfishness and wickedness of man, we have now learned that it is not even a right of a child to be born into this world. Regardless of the fact that the scripture made us to understand that, we are fearfully and wonderfully made and covered in the womb of our mothers, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalm 139:13-14) some children are still at the mercy of the “Right to choose” mothers.

When we see a helpless person in the agony of his or her sickness, in pain or weakness of body, we realize and understand that it is not a right to be healthy and sound in mind, it is the gift of God. When we see a blind man that is groping in darkness in the broad day light, we know and understand that it is not a right or an entitlement to be able to behold the scintillating beauty of the glory of God that we see every day.

When we take a walk to visit the prison yard or police cells we will be able to see a better picture of the grace of God that our Heavenly Father granted us to be able to sleep each night in the comfort of our home in our luxurious bed. Realizing that great and powerful men had made their abode in the prison yard, and then we will appreciate that is neither a right nor entitlement that we are dwelling in comfort of our opulence and blessings.

The war thorn environments and the tensed and terror striking nations will remind us that it is not a right that we are dwelling in peace in the place that God Almighty had sojourned us. Still living and standing on our feet is not to be taking for granted. The list of the gracious blessings of God cannot be fully stated in the brief message. We need to know that, “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentation 3:22-23) “For I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” (Exodus 33:19 NLT) That is why we need to appreciate the loving kindness of God in our day to day activities and worship Him. Have you worshiped God and praised Him today? Think about His abundant grace in your life! It is not too late to humble ourselves before our Creator and worship and adore Him because He is good and His mercy endureth for ever.

Prayer: Lord open my eyes in order that I may behold the great work of mercy that you are doing in my life every day. Endow me with the heart of appreciation and grant me the grace to put the grace of God into good use for Your glory, in Jesus name, Amen.
