Are You Hungry?

Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. (Matthew 15:32-37)

Our Lord Jesus Christ and the disciples were not operating at the same frequencies. The disciples had good hearts. They had sense of administration. They desired to help and meet the needs of the people but they were helpless because they were limited to the available physical abilities. Their objective here was that, since they could not help the people by providing food for them, they thought that the people should be released to help themselves. The disciples have concern for the people but Jesus Christ has compassion for the people. There is difference between concern and compassion. The Bible students described the word ‘compassion’ of Jesus Christ as ‘love couple with action.’ It is one thing to love someone, and it is another thing to convert the love into action. Jesus did not only love the people but He also have power to transform the love he has for them into action in order to meet them at the point of their needs. The disciples were limited by the physical availability of materials, but Jesus Christ was unlimited both physically and spiritually with the super abundance of Heaven.

If you are hungry and you are not pleased with the situations of your life there is a way out—Follow our Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35) “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10)

If peace has become elusive to you in your home, and you sincerely desire peace in your family, He is the prince of peace. He will intervene in your situation and endow you with His peace that passes all understanding. “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

If you desire to be delivered from your sickness, call upon His name in prayer, He will heal you. A compassionate father will not let you remain in your sickness if you can put your trust on Him and cast all your cares unto Him today. He said “cast all your cares upon me, I careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) “With His stripes [of our Lord Jesus Christ] we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) He said “I will bless your bread and your drink and take sickness from you.” (Exodus 23:25); “I will not allow the diseases of Egyptians upon you, I am the Lord that healeth you.” Exodus 15:26

If you are tired of failure in life, why don’t you try Jesus Christ, He never failed. Anna cried unto Him, she was not put to shame. The Lord remembered Serah and Elizabeth and fulfilled their heart desires and blessed them with the fruit of the womb. In His faithfulness, He will surely remember you and wipe away your tears. If pain and poverty is terrorizing you, cling unto Jesus Christ, He will deliver you and fulfill you and enlarge your coast. “And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your  hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!”  So God granted him what he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:10) Are you hunger and thirst for righteousness, the scripture says that you shall be filled. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6) If you are a spiritually adopted child of God through salvation, that have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and you are hungry and thirst for the anointing of Holy Spirit, there is an assured answer from our Heavenly Father that you will not be denied. “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11:13) If your case is loneliness and in the sorrowful anguish of heart, He promised, He will never leave you nor forget you. “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” (Isaiah 49:15)

Whatever may be the definition of your hunger, like Jabez of old, seek the face of the Heavenly Father today. The compassionate Father is still on His throne in Heaven. He still listens to the cry of His children. He will heal you physically and spiritually. The rain of His mercy will fall upon you. He will breathe upon your life and bless your secular activities and enlarge your coast spiritually in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer: O Lord God Almighty, I humbly rest on Your bosom and totally surrender my life unto You. You are the Bread of Heaven, heal me in Your mercy, deliver me from the clutches of the wicked and feed me till I want no more. Heavenly Father please meet me at the point of my spiritual and physical needs, in Jesus name, Amen.
