PUT ON A HOLY GARMENT (LYRICS)

In the morning light, we rise, shedding burdens of the past,
With a heart renewed in kindness, we embrace pure love of Christ.
Every moment, every heartbeat, is a call to our commitments,
With compassion as our armor, we will shine throughout our days.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly beloved,
Clothe yourselves with bowel of mercy, kindness and humility,
Forbearing one another, forgive as the Lord has forgiven you,
Above all these virtues, put on love, that perfectly binds us.

In the tapestry of friendship, woven with threads of grace,
We will lift each other higher, finding strength in the holy union.
When the storms of life assail, we will stand and hold our ground,
With the peace of Christ within us, joy and hope will be our song.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly beloved,
Clothe yourselves with bowel of mercy, kindness and humility,
Forbearing one another, forgive as the Lord has forgiven you,
Above all these virtues, put on love, that perfectly binds us.

Let the message of Christ dwell richly in your hearts always,
With all wisdom, teaching and admonishing others in truth.
As we sing with grateful voices, let our praises fill the air,
In the unity of spirit, we’ll showcase the beauty of Christ.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly beloved,
Clothe yourselves with bowel of mercy, kindness and humility,
Forbearing one another, forgive as the Lord has forgiven you,
Above all these virtues, put on love, that perfectly binds us.

BIBLE REFERENCE

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:12-16)
