THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD (LYRICS)
In the valley’s darkest hour, I hear the Lord’s steady call,
Not by might or fearful doubt, but by heaven’s living power.
Strength for the weary hands, wisdom for my wandering feet,
Mercy running like a river, making broken hearts refreshed,
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest and abide upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding of God’s word.
The Spirit of counsel and might in God’s awesome power,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
When the night comes pressing close, let my spirit not grow cold,
He will teach my heart to listen, faithful to the Word of grace.
Justice like the dawn will break, my trembling soul made strong,
Every promise, every struggle, turned to praise in heaven’s song.
